what is HPL ？

HPL another name is formica ,High pressure laminate (HPL) (Decorative Thermosetting resin impregnated laminate panel), is manufactured by layers kraft papers impregnated with phenolic resin, and the decorative paper impregnated with melamine resin, pressed by steel plate under high temperature and high pressure, it have rich surface colors and special physical properties, widely used for interior decoration, toilet partition, furniture, cabinets, laboratory table, exterior cladding wall panels, etc.

HPL is made of decorative paper and kraft paper after impregnation, drying, high temperature and high pressure and other processing steps

Firstly, impregnate the decorative paper and the kraft paper in the melamine resin and phenolic resin reaction tanks respectively, dry them after impregnating for a period of time, and cut them into required sizes.

Then these impregnated decorative papers are stacked together with multiple sheets of kraft paper (depending on the thickness of the fireproof board), placed under a press, and subjected to a high temperature of 300 degrees Fahrenheit (about 150 degrees Celsius) with 1430 kraft paper per square inch. Pounds of pressure, continue to apply pressure evenly for an hour.

Finally, it is made by trimming, sanding, quality inspection and other steps.

The normal size is 1220*2440mm,1220*2800mm,1300*2800mm .the thickness is from 0.3mm to 18mm .
