CLASSIFICATION AND USAGE OF HIGH-PRESSURE DECORATIVE（HPL） PANELS

HPL(FORMICA) panels have rich surface colors and textures, including monochrome series, pattern series, wood grain series, stone grain series, laser series, metal wire drawing series and more than a thousand kinds of patterns and colors.

Products are widely used in furniture, indoor and outdoor decoration, fireproof and waterproof partitions, cabinets, wall hangings, etc.

There are more than 200 types of HPL surface treatments, such as matte, high-gloss, pitted, synchronously textured, painted, square, dot, and hollowed-out special-shaped surfaces. There are many ways to classify products. We distinguish by thickness. Products can be divided into:

1. Ordinary thin single-sided decorative board: thickness of 0.3~1.2mm, single-sided decoration, generally cannot be used independently, and needs to be pasted on wooden substrates such as density fiberboard, particleboard, blockboard, etc.

2. Medium-thick double-sided decorative panels: thickness 1.3~4.5mm, double-sided decoration, general size 1300*2800mm, mainly exported to the Middle East.

3. Thick double-sided decorative board: divided into wall-mounted products with a thickness of 4~8mm and anti-fold special products with a thickness of 12mm, with double-sided decoration.

We can also simply divide them into two categories:

1. Fireproof board: the thickness is 0.5-1.0mm, and it is generally pasted on the substrate for use;

2. Compact board: the thickness is 2.0-32.0mm, often used as partitions, wall panels, lockers, etc.
